Lancaster University被Times Good University Guide評為英國西北部最佳大學，在全英國的排行名列第12，與去年持平。


Guide的發言人表示，蘭卡對海外的野心幫助了他們在排名上有了優異的表現。蘭卡的海外擴展，符合其國際化的野心，學生來自超過一百個國家，很快地，蘭卡在印度、馬來西亞及巴基斯坦等地頒發的畢業證書，將會超過在蘭卡斯特當地的畢業生人數。

在英國西北部地區，蘭卡在畢業生進入下一階段的專業工作及進階深造上，得到了最高的分數(72.7%)。

Lancaster University has again been named as the best in the North West.

The university also put in an impressive showing in the national Sunday Times Good University Guide league table, holding on to 12th place overall.
Edge Hill University in Ormskirk was ranked 69th overall – up four from last year – making it the fourth placed institution in the North West behind Manchester and Liverpool.
The University of Central Lancashire in Preston slid from 71st place in 2012 to 88 in the latest rankings.
A Guide spokesman said Lancaster University’s ambitions abroad had helped them put in a strong performance.
He said: “The top performing university in the North West, Lancaster, has maintained the number one spot for another year.
“The university has been expanding overseas in line with its ambition to be truly international.
“It hosts students from more than 100 countries, and there will soon be more graduating with the university’s degrees in India, Malaysia and Pakistan than in Lancaster.
“The university has the best percentage score (72.7 per cent) in the region for graduates moving on to professional jobs or further study.”
The University of Cumbria, which has a base in Lancaster, was rated in 95th place.
The league table is drawn up from criteria including student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and university dropout rates.

Accounting and Finance ranked third in latest university guide

Accounting and Finance at Lancaster has risen to third place in the UK in the 2014 Times/Sunday Times 'Good University Guide', significantly improving on its 7th place in the previous guide.
Also rising up the guide's subject-specific league tables since last year are Business Studies, now 5th in the UK, and Economics, 15th. Lancaster University has maintained its 12th place overall, sharing this position with the University of Surrey.
The latest edition of the guide places greater emphasis than previously on two specific aspects: student satisfaction and research ratings.
